In 2001, Nike introduced the new Pro B line of Dunk Lows with slightly fatter laces and new materials on the upper  a clear skateboard-specific line of footwear that preceded the first official line of Nike SB Dunk footwear. In the mid-80's, thee Dunk, along with the Air Jordan 1, was a rather popular selection as a skate shoe as they both formed a cult hype alongside its original intent of being a sporty basketball shoe.

With Nike's Retro Basketball line being such a major topic this year, it's time we focus on one of the most concentrated Nike Basketball releases ever  the Nike  Hoop' Pack of late 2005. Some may have overlooked these classics primarily because these were released exclusively overseas, so if you needed a reminder, there's no better time than now. The Nike  Hoop' Pack features a number of Nike Basketball models new and old ranging from the earliest Nike Blazer, to the new models like the Air Force Operate and Shox MTX. Sprinkled in between are other Classic models like the Air Force 180, Air Max Penny, and Air More Uptempo, but let's break down this Pack even further.

Yesterday's Nike  Clerks' Pack feature in Classics Revisited was a reward of sorts to a cluster of Nike's most reputable sneaker shops in the West Coast and in London. But other Packs are born in-house and encircle a pre-made concept, like 2006's  Fantastic Four' Pack. Not surprisingly, the Nike  Fantastic Four' Pack featured four models representing each of the four members of the Marvel Comics superhero team  the Air Max 90 (Mr. Fantastic), Air Force 1 Low (Invisible Woman), Dunk High (The Thing), and Air Max 95 (Human Torch). The opposing force to the  Fantastic Four' Pack was the team's long-standing rival Dr. Doom, who took form in the Air Foamposite Pro.

The fictional Fantastic Four is recognized primarily for their unique physical abilities that arose as a result of exposure to cosmic rays in outer space. Likewise, the Nike  Fantastic Four' Pack were each distinguishable not only be colorway, but from the materials that were used to build each shoe; the Air Max 90 featured a canvas-like material, the Air Force 1 Low had a transparent upper, the Dunk High used an interesting material that had a rocky texture, and the Air Max 95 utilized patent leather to emanate blazing-hot flames. The Fantastic Four Pack was already released roughly one year after Fantastic Four was produced into a feature film.

Beginning in 2005, Nike teamed up with a number of notable sneaker retailers for the  Clerks' Pack, which involved a veritable list of reputable shops like UNDFTD, Stussy, Huf, and Size? over the span of one year. Three major cities were targeted for the Clerks Pack, beginning with Los Angeles in 2005, and followed by London and San Francisco in 2006.The first leg of the Clerks Pack begin in Los Angeles with Stussy (Blazer Mid '73), Union (Air Force 180), and UNDFTD (Dunk High NL) and released in 2005; of the three, the Air Force 180 is certainly the attention-grabber of the bunch, with the high-rise silhouette given an astounding visual punch with safari print, a gradient white/pink midsole, and the color-blotted spots on the ankle collar and insole.

Finishing up our spotlight of 2004 SB Dunk Highs is one of the most popular non-collabos to have ever release  the  Sea Crystal'. Matched up with an equally enticing  Ice Green' and completed with a black Swoosh, outsole, inner lining, and laces, the Sea Crystals were incredibly popular partially due to its full-suede build (shared by the likes of the  Hulk',  Iron', and  Maple' releases of 2003). Although SB Dunks were never officially  Retroed', the Sea Crystal re-surfaced in tonal Mid-form in 2009. Sea Crystals in your stash?
