Have you ever tried? And what about the climber who has never climbed a cliff before in their lives. Aren't they going to be just a little bit scared? I would think the new comer would want to find any way possible to get out of climbing that cliff. Is it not better to have the experienced climber go first, to show the other how it's done? To show them where to put their hands and feet and how to use their body and move their weight just right? To show them the way up? Is it not better to have that person to climb up with a rope, and then drop it down so the climber who has never climbed a cliff before in their life can then feel not only that they now know how to do it, but that they also have a safety rope? And will it not be so much easier for the experienced climber, using a secure tree they find at the top of the cliff, to slowly but surely pull the new comer to the top.
I know sometimes it seems noble to sacrifice yourself so that others may benefit. And I know that sometimes, there simply is no other way. But this young woman of twenty one, lives in a world full of opportunity. And her little brother is watching his big sister very carefully. He has to, she's the only one he has left. Everyone else is gone. What will he learn by seeing his big sister remain small. We can't push someone up a fifty meter cliff who doesn't know how to climb. And if we don't know how to climb either then all we need to do is find someone who can, and ask them to show us how so that we can teach someone else.
You are shy just like everyone else is shy. It just seems even more so to you because you're in your own skin. EVERYBODY is shy, which really means, they are afraid of getting rejected. The difference is that some guys feel the pain of not getting what they want far more than they feel the fear of being rejected. It's not that they get over the anxiety, (well, actually, they do eventually once they realize that they don't have to get rejected!) it's that they decide to learn the right way that all of this done, and to make it work for them.
